Central Florida beats Navy 31-21 for first 6-0 start

The Midshipmen (5-2, 3-2) kept it close, but their chances of pulling off an upset dwindled after quarterback Zach Abey was forced from the game in the third quarter. Abey was dazed from a hit to the helmet at the end of a run and had to be helped off the field.

Though Navy will never settle for moral victories, the Midshipmen can take consolation in hanging with an unbeaten Top 25 team averaging more than 50 points a game.

                                     2017 Tailgate Handbook

Tailgating at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium after every home football game is an anchor event for New Jersey parents of midshipmen and alumni. The New Jersey Parents' Club typically feeds 600-1000 meals every game day. All with NO BUDGET.  Called the "Miracle on Asphalt" this event is a spectacle to behold and a joy to help execute. About 1/3 of the meals are pregame lunches and 2/3 are full dinners. The food is donated by the NJ Parents' Club members or parents from around the country and is available to any midshipmen, whether their home state is New Jersey or any state or country.
Food comes fresh from kitchens from Cape May to Mahwah. Think in terms of feeding your mid and their best 25 friends. No prepackaged muffins here! The mids literally RUN to our tailgate after the singing of Blue and Gold and are welcomed with open arms and hot plates of delicious foods. Steaks, sides, salads, and ethnic dishes are all welcomed.
Drop-off can be as early as 7:30 a.m. or as late as half-time.
We can grill or reheat whatever you make.  Please  do not bring a frozen tray as quick defrosting is beyond our equipment capabilities.

When you know what you want to bring register it HERE. This Google Docs spreadsheet helps us track needs and balance. If you forget to register, bring your food anyway! Registration is not a requirement, just a help.

We are located along Taylor Road just to the right of the midshipmen tunnel entrance to the stadium.  The 20' x 40' white tent and site will be well-marked with NJPC banners.

Early parking is abundant just across Taylor Road on residential lots in the $20/day range.  These spots are very convenient and plentiful for early arrivals.

The USNA Parents Club of NJ hosts a tailgate after each home football game and after the away Army-Navy mens and womens basketball game at West Point. More on this over the winter.  Club families prepare warm home-cooked meals for  hundreds of Mids.   All leftovers are taken to Mother "B" wardrooms for mids who had duty stations and could not make the game.
Parents from any state are welcome to join us in setting up, preparing and serving food or breaking down the service after the game. You can simply drop off your food donations or enjoy the day with 40- 100 parent peers.  If you live too far away to join us, or don't have time to cook, you can support your Mids by making a donation to the USNA Parents' Club of New Jersey .

The USNA Parents' Club of New Jersey is a charitable organization and all proceeds go to the well being and support of the brigade.
Your participation will be much appreciated by the brigade, recognized by NJPC members, and fulfilling for your USNA experience.
