USNA Class of 2030 Welcome Aboard Picnic

Please join us as we welcome the USNA Class of 2030!

This kick off event for the USNA class of 2030 will be an opportunity to meet incoming plebes, speak with alumni & USNA families. Current USNA NJ families will be available to share valuable tips for I-Day, Plebe summer & beyond.

You won’t want to miss this event to hear about all the exciting events NJ Parents Club hosts through out the year & meet other NJ families in a relaxed atmosphere.

1980 ALITC - Another Link in the Chain Speaker - Michael "Mac" McDonald

Michael "Mac" McDonald graduated with the USNA Class of 1980. A New Jersey native, originally from Delran, he entered the Academy after graduating from Holy Cross HS in 1975 and then attended NAPS.

Mac served 6 years in the Marine Corps after graduation. After completing the Basic School in Quantico, VA and Artillery School in Fort Sill, OK; he served one year with Delta Battery, 2nd Battalion, 12th Marines in Okinawa, Japan and then 4 years with the Marine Corps Recruiting Service in Orlando, FL (Recruiting Operations) and Atlanta, GA (Sales & Management Training).

After leaving the Marine Corps in 1986 as a Captain, his first private sector experience was 2 years in Software Sales in Atlanta and then 13 years as a Foreign Exchange Trader for banks in Chicago and New York City.

A short return to Software Sales ensued for 2 years in San Mateo, CA & Chicago before starting a 20-year career with the CME Group in Electronic Trading Operations with their Global Command Center (GCC). The first 10 years with CME Group were in Chicago and the last 10 years were in New York City as the Executive Director of the NY GCC.

Mac retired at the end of 2021 and currently resides in Port Monmouth, NJ.
